The Manager, Encor Commercial Accounts is accountable for developing commercial customer relationships, market intelligence and product/service improvements for energy products. This includes ongoing direct outreach to small and medium size businesses and homebuilders, management of the commercial energy product portfolio, and engaging with internal departments to make sure that Encor's product offering is competitive and delivers an exceptional customer experience.

Detailed Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Products, the Manager, Encor Commercial Accounts is accountable for but not limited to:

  • Ensuring product offerings meet financial and non-financial goals.
  • Identifying opportunities to further advance market penetration of existing and future initiatives.
  • Providing input to the Encor by EPCOR plans and directions.
  • Developing sales leads and establishing commercial customer relationships for potential sales through networking, and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Collaborating with the EPCOR Contact Centre to ensure effective and efficient customer relationship management and an excellent customer experience.
  • Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics including:
    • Achieving sales and margin targets.
    • Growing the customer base.
    • Improving customer retention.
    • Ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Gathering market intelligence and competitive analysis.
  • Monitoring trends within the energy sector and identifying new commercial product business opportunities.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing the Specialist, Marketing's processes to ensure compliance with policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensuring mitigation of risks.
  • Identifying the necessary budget requirements and developing sales forecasts.
  • Creating a strong team of employees, including: recruitment, retention, and development.
  • Ensuring the deliverables of directly reporting positions are aligned and integrated, and include performance expectations.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent; specialization in Finance or Marketing is preferable.
  • 5 years of related work experience, managing commercial customer accounts and sales.
  • Previous experience in business development, sales, marketing or communications initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and building relationships and clearly articulating business plans, key points and ideas to a diverse audience.
  • Experience negotiating contract terms.
  •  Ability to manage customer's (both internal and external) expectations.
  • Ability to analyze opportunities in the context of a strategic growth plan.
  • Strong understanding of the electricity industry in Alberta would be an asset.

In addition, you are able to exercise influence when working in a cross functional team, and demonstrate effective interpersonal and leadership skills. You also demonstrate a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills.

Additional Details

Jurisdiction: MGMT

Hours of work: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Note: this role will require some travel within Alberta.
