Provide technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Salem Power Uprate Project. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a Generator Engineer for the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. The engineer is responsible for oversight of the generator and support systems impact assessment and sponsoring and implementing related power uprate modifications.
Job Responsibilities
Assess the required scope of work and exploring various alternative solutions for required modifications.
Sponsor plant modifications through the plant approval process.
Fulfill the role of the system lead engineer for modifications.
Ensure adequate systems integration and fulfill the role of plant systems subject matter experts
Support changes to the Preventive maintenance and Surveillance Program
Identify Critical Spare parts
Support Operations and Maintenance technical procedural changes.
Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing
Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Electrical Design Engineering Manager.
Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization
Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical degree with 13 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
Minimum of 7 years of experience directly related to generator engineering, design and/or testing.
Availability for shift work during installation.
Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desired:
Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification
Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
